The Twitter Profile Widget Web-Part

Display Twitter Updates on Your Web-page

Many schools, districts, school faculty and staff, and clubs/organizations now have Twitter accounts to keep followers up to date on events, news, and happenings. Twitter is an extremely convenient way to get quick succinct messages out to the masses.

While many schools have a link to their Twitter page on their website, the Twitter Profile Widget web-part can actually be placed on any page in the CMS. The web-part synchs with a specified account on Twitter, displaying real-time updates from the account.

Twitter Use Examples

  • Tweet school announcements, closings, and cancelations.

  • Tweet sports/athletics locations, cancelations, and scores.

  • Tweet fundraising events and links to fundraising landing pages in the CMS.

  • Tweet congratulations to student athletes, and those competitive in academics.

  • Tweet birthday and holiday wishes.

  • Tweet reminders about upcoming exams and events.

  • Tweet PTA announcements.

  • Link to external Twitter accounts that have content relevant to a topic, like the "Museum of Modern Art" or "Mathletics."

Embedding this web-part in your page means those tweets can be available on your home page or on any other page in your website.
