Paste Formatted Content into Editor

Copy Formatted Text/Content & Paste It into the WYSIWYG Editor

A cool thing about using the WYSIWYG editor is the ability to grab (copy) content from external sources (websites, PDF files, etc.) and paste it into the editor where you can then edit the content further or use it as is.

This little button/icon () is great if you're copying formatted text from another document, webpage in your SchoolFront Portal CMS website, or even from an external website webpage.

If you paste copied content using this button all formatting will be maintained:

  • Styles will be maintained but mapped to the styles used in your website design.
  • Hyperlinks will be maintained.
  • Sizing and spacing will be maintained.
  • DIV tags and dividers will be maintained.

That said, sometimes pasting in this way is frustrating because it pastes all of the HTML formatting with the text and content. Sometimes after you paste you look at what's pasted and go "Ew! This looks bad!"

If this happens, try pasting with the plain text button/icon () instead.
