Applicable System Roles

System users with the following roles can do this:

  • Administrator Only

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Log into SchoolFront as an Administrator user.

2. In the left navigation bar, place your mouse on Feature Administration, then Feature Administration page will appear.

3. Click Report Card Administration.

4. Make the changes to report card configuration that you desire.

5. Click the Update button to save the changes.

Use Standard Report Card Comments Instead of Free-Text Comments

Note: Make sure that your school's report card actually supports comments before you take the time to enter comments. If your school does not have comments on the report card, this could constitute wasted effort for you! Check before you take the time to comment!!!!

Some schools prefer that teachers use standard comments, or comment codes on report cards rather than free text. If you have a school that prefers the usage of standard comments, follow these steps to set it up:

1. Log into SchoolFront as an Administrator user.

2. In the left navigation bar, place your mouse on Feature Administration, then Feature Administration page will appear.

3. Click Report Card Administration.

4. Make sure that the checkbox beside Allow Custom Comments is unchecked (if it is checked, uncheck it).

5. Click the Update button.

5.  Once again, in the left navigation bar, place your mouse on Feature Administration, then Feature Administration page will appear.

6. In the Lists section, click Report Card Comments.

7. To add a comment from your report card, click the New Report Card Comment link (next to the green plus-sign icon). A comment form will open.

8. In the Comment Name field, enter the full comment, for example “Missing Homework Assignments.”

9. In the Comment ID field enter the number associated with the comment. For example “01” goes with “Missing Homework Assignments.”

10. Repeat steps 7 to 9 for all of your report card comments.
