Make Pages & Content (Web-parts) on Pages Appear/Disappear
The CMS leverages the concept of "publishing." Published means that the content is viewable to those who have been given "read" access to the content. Un-published means that only the person who created the content and other content editors can see the content.
Publishing can be applied to both pages and content (web-parts) on pages.
An approval process can be put in place so that administrators can vet content by specific authors before it is made viewable by readers.
