In the Main Navigation Window there are different ways to navigate depending on the section in which you are working:

Data Grid

Throughout the system you will see information in the SchoolFront Main Window displayed in data grids. Data grids allow you to browse records, search records, and filter records upon command. After you sort and filter records in a data grid. You can save the display as a personal "view." Which you can use to recall the view whenever you need it.

In the example below, a data grid from the "Discipline" section is shown.

  • Click here to see how you can use SchoolFront data grids to quickly track down and view records, easily aggregated system information without having to create a special report, and create and save multiple personalized data grid "views" which will allow you to summon data whenever you need it in the way you want to see it organized.

Selected Object Details

If you select a record from a data grid, the details of the record (i.e. all of the detailed information related to the selected record) will display in the Selected Object Details space below the data grid.

In the example below, a data grid from the "Discipline" section is shown and then the record for Berkeley Breathed is selected. You can see the details of the selected record displayed below the data grid.

Sometimes details about a record are organized using tabs. In situations where there are tabs in the details, you can click on the tabs to view the content on the tabs.

In the example below, a data grid from the "Manage Students" section is shown and then the record for Dan Akroyd is selected. You can see the details of the selected record displayed below the data grid and there are tabs for information associated with Dan Akroyd.

Change Course

In order to make navigation as fast as possible, some pages like the Teacher Daily Planner, Grade Categories, and others have all of the teacher's courses listed at the top of the screen (note that only your own courses will appear, not all courses in the school). This allows the user to easily navigate between courses and complete the same sort of task for more than one course without much clicking.

If you are in a screen with the courses listed at the top, you can click the courses to go directly to them. In the example below, the Grade Category Management screen is shown with the courses of the teacher listed listed at the top of the Main Window.
