Using Views in the Asset Management Grid
Once you have begun using asset management capability in SchoolFront to track school property inventory and the location and condition of school property, the grid becomes a powerful place from which to derive important information.
While you are free to come up with and generate as many grid views as you want / need using your own process and imagination, here are some ideas of grid views you may find useful to create and save:

Step-by-Step Instructions
Generate a List of Students with School Property That is Past Due
1. Click the Manage Assets section in the left navigation menu.
2. In the grid, find the column called Expected Return Date and click the filter icon.
3. Choose Before from the filtering list.
4. Enter the current date (i.e. today's date).
5. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
6. The grid will filter out any property records that do not meet the criteria of "before the date you entered."
If the date you entered is today's date, then the records you see will have an Expected Return Date which is past due (i.e. expected to be returned on some date before today's date).
If you look in the column called Assignee Full Name, you will be able to see who has the past due school property.
7. You could create a similar view for items which are due Today, or due on a different specific date by using the filters on the Expected Return Date column.
8. To save this or another view on the Expected Return Date column, click the little binocular icon and enter a name for this view.
9. To export the filtered records, click the Excel icon and only the records meeting the filtering criteria will export to Excel, where you can then print the list out and use it to track down over due property.

Generate a List of All Unassigned School Property
1. Click the Manage Assets section in the left navigation menu.
2. In the grid, find the column called Status Name and click the filter icon.
3. Choose Equals from the filtering list.
4. Enter the status your school uses for unassigned property (e.g. it may be something like "Available" or "Returned."
If you are unsure of what status to enter, see what your options are by going to Feature Administration>Asset Management>Statuses
5. Hit the Enter key on your keyboard.
6. The grid will filter out any property records that do not meet the criteria of "equals to available."
This means that the records you see will have the status of "available," which means they are currently not assigned to anyone.
7. You could create a similar view using any statuses--you could filter to see only items that are assigned, or items that are retired..
8. To save this or another view on the Status Name column, click the little binocular icon and enter a name for this view.
9. To export the filtered records, click the Excel icon and only the records meeting the filtering criteria will export to Excel, where you can then print the list out and use it to track down over due property.
