Add a Facebook "Like" Button

Place a Facebook "Like" Button onto a Page in Your CMS Site

Facebook Developers has a "Configurator" that allows you to generate a "like" button for your facebook page. This button can be added to any page in your CMS website by pasting the code generated by the Facebook Configurator into the source of an HTML web-part on the page. 

Step-by-Step Instructions

Generate Your "Like" Button Code a the Facebook Developers Website
  1. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/docs/reference/plugins/like/

  2. Scroll the page down to the "Configurator."

  3. In the field called "URL to Like" enter the URL to your Facebook page. 

  4. You will get a preview of what your button will look like to the right-side of the configurator. 

  5. Choose a "Layout Style" (you can try them all to see what it will look like. 

  6. Specify a width for your button. The default is 450.

  7. Check or uncheck the "Show Faces" checkbox--try it to see what it looks like the preview.

  8. Choose a font for the button. 

  9. Choose a color scheme for the button. 

  10. Decide whether you want the button to say "Like" or "Recommend. (Verb to Display)" 

  11. Click the "Get Code" button. 

  12. Click the IFRAME button. 

  13. Keep the code open at this point so that you will be able to cut and paste the code when needed. 

Add the Button to Your CMS Website Page
  1. Go to the page in the CMS where you want to place the button. 

  2. If you have not already done so, add an HTML web-part to the page. 

  3. Click the Edit link on the HTML web-part to open the WYSIWYG editor. 

  4. Click the Source button. 

  5.  Back in the Facebook configurator where your code was generated, copy the IFRAME code.

  6. Paste that code into the Source of the WYSIWYG editor in the CMS. 

  7. Click the Update button. 

  8. Refresh the screen and your "Like" button should be operational in the position you placed it on the page.
